TL;DR · Director, Product & Technology Communications

The Director, Product & Technology Communications joins the product organization to own the company’s media narrative and public profile for platforms including Arc, Circle Agent Stack, Circle Payments Network, and Circle Digital Assets and Services. This role involves embedding early in the development cycle to shape long-horizon narratives, managing product launch communications, and developing executive thought leadership programs. The individual will manage tier-1 technology media relationships, coordinate stage and speaking strategies at major conferences, and collaborate with community teams on developer-focused messaging. Key responsibilities include architecting AI-powered communication workflows and managing crisis response for core products. Success requires technical fluency in blockchain, digital assets, and programmable money infrastructure to translate complex engineering briefs into accessible storytelling. The role addresses the challenge of positioning the company as a technology leader within the emerging agentic economy and the future of commerce.

What you'll do

  • Develop and own the long-term public narrative for Arc as a primary economic infrastructure platform.
  • Manage media relations and press placements regarding Circle’s role in the AI agentic economy.
  • Embed with product teams early in the development cycle to shape narratives before official launch dates.
  • Execute media and stage strategies for all major product launches and key platform milestones.
  • Develop executive thought leadership programs, including speaking engagements, op-eds, and briefing materials for tech leaders.
  • Manage relationships with tier-1 technology media outlets covering infrastructure, fintech, and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with the community team to create tailored messaging for developer and builder audiences.
  • Provide product expertise and narrative context to support crisis and reputation management efforts.

What we're looking for

  • Must have 10+ years of experience in product or technology communications, including substantial in-house experience at a technology company.
  • Proven track record of building product brands and developing narrative strategies well ahead of announcement moments.
  • Deep relationships with Tier 1 technology and business media covering infrastructure, developer platforms, fintech, or the future of payments.
  • Experience communicating with developer-facing products and technical communities alongside mainstream press.
  • Familiarity with the AI agent landscape and how programmable money infrastructure connects to the agentic economy.
  • Strong technical fluency to translate engineering briefs and product documentation into media-ready positioning.
  • Experience developing executive thought leadership programs, including speaker strategy and long-form narrative development.
  • Must be based in San Francisco or Palo Alto.
  • In-house experience at a FAANG company, major fintech, or high-growth technology platform (preferred).
  • Background in blockchain, digital assets, programmable money infrastructure, or developer platforms (preferred).
  • Existing relationships with AI, ML, agentic economy, crypto, Web3, or fintech trade media (preferred).
  • Experience with developer community communications, ecosystem evangelism, or platform go-to-market (preferred).
  • Familiarity with generative AI models and their application to communications workflows (preferred).
