Director, Engineering - Okta Integration Network

What you'll do

• Lead, recruit, and mentor multiple teams of engineers, architects, and engineering managers across global locations.
• Drive the evolution of the Okta Integration Network by delivering secure, scalable, and standards-based integration capabilities.
• Shape the product roadmap for cross-app identity security and expand the integration catalog.
• Manage the operational rhythm of the organization by establishing metrics and processes to ensure delivery excellence.
• Represent team strategy in senior leadership forums by translating technical progress into data-driven narratives.
• Partner with product, security, and AI teams to secure agent-driven interactions and high-reliability services.
• Manage budget cycles and control costs for assigned engineering groups in coordination with finance teams.
• Drive the adoption of AI tooling and automation to improve engineering velocity and processes.

What we're looking for

• You must have 12+ years of experience in software development.
• You must have a proven track record of leading high-performing engineering organizations, including managing other managers.
• You should have experience with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.
• You must demonstrate success collaborating with product and design teams to execute long-term, customer-focused roadmaps.
• You must possess acquaintance in IAM standards such as OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and governance workflows.
• You must have strong architectural judgment in building distributed systems, APIs, SDKs, and developer-focused integration frameworks.
• You must possess excellent coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills for a globally distributed organization.
