Director, Engineering, Okta Integration Network

What you'll do

• Lead, recruit, and mentor multiple teams of engineers, architects, and engineering managers.
• Shape the roadmap for cross-app identity security and the Okta Integration Network catalog.
• Deliver secure, scalable, and standards-based integration capabilities using OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM.
• Manage the operational rhythm of the organization by establishing metrics and processes for engineering excellence.
• Partner with product and design leaders to define and execute a multi-year product vision.
• Represent the engineering strategy in senior leadership forums using data-driven narratives.
• Manage budget cycles and control costs for the assigned engineering groups.
• Drive the adoption of AI tooling and automation to improve engineering velocity.

What we're looking for

• 12+ years of experience in software development with a track record of leading high-performing engineering organizations.
• Experience managing other engineering managers.
• Acquaintance in IAM standards like OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and governance workflows.
• Strong architectural judgment in building distributed systems, APIs, SDKs, and developer-focused integration frameworks.
• Experience with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes (preferred).
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with product and design counterparts to build and execute a long-term, customer-focused roadmap.
• Exceptional coaching and mentoring skills to develop engineering talent at all levels.
