Director, AI Systems – Scale-up, Scale-out and Networking is a leadership role focused on driving platform readiness and enablement for next-generation AI infrastructure and connectivity technologies. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional engineering teams across silicon, firmware, software, and validation to develop and qualify solutions for large-scale AI racks, accelerator clusters, and data center platforms. Key responsibilities include defining strategies for scale-up and scale-out architectures, managing risk, and establishing scalable qualification strategies from pre-silicon development through production. The role requires deep expertise in high-performance computing and specific technologies including UA Link, PCIe Gen5/Gen6, CXL, Ethernet, high-speed SerDes, and coherent fabrics. This position solves critical technical challenges in building robust, scalable connectivity solutions for CPUs, GPUs, and accelerators within the high-performance computing and AI infrastructure domain to ensure market readiness for advanced data center systems.
Define the strategy for platform readiness and ecosystem enablement of UA Link, PCIe, CXL, and Ethernet technologies.
Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives across silicon design, firmware, software, systems, and validation teams.
Guide architectural decisions, risk management, and long-term technology investments for AI infrastructure.
Partner with internal teams, industry consortiums, and customers to accelerate the adoption of AMD connectivity solutions.
Establish scalable validation and qualification strategies from pre-silicon development through production and customer deployment.
Represent the company in executive reviews and technical forums as a lead for AI infrastructure technologies.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent industry experience is preferred.
Extensive experience leading server, data center, AI, or HPC platform architecture and systems engineering organizations.
Deep understanding of connectivity technologies including UA Link, PCIe Gen5/Gen6, CXL, Ethernet, high-speed SerDes, and coherent fabrics.
Proven track record delivering complex products from architecture definition through silicon development, platform bring-up, and production launch.
Demonstrated success building, mentoring, and leading high-performing engineering teams.
Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams including design, validation, firmware, software, manufacturing, and customer-facing organizations.
