DFM PCBA Engineer

What you'll do

• Conduct DFM reviews of rigid and flexible PCBA designs to provide actionable feedback to design teams.
• Optimize manufacturing processes including process flow, assembly materials, panel array design, and critical parameters.
• Develop and implement internal guidelines and best practices for PCB design and assembly across product lines.
• Execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) and test builds to establish manufacturing boundary conditions and validate new technologies.
• Assess and verify the technical capabilities of PCBA assembly vendors to identify potential risks.
• Create and maintain checklists to ensure design maturity and factory readiness for new product introductions.
• Establish and refine design rules to ensure consistent creation of manufacturable component land patterns.
• Lead root cause and failure analysis investigations using advanced analytical techniques like X-ray, SEM/EDS, and cross-sectioning.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in PCBA, electronic assembly, or a related field.
• Robust understanding of engineering fundamentals including material science, thermodynamics, and mechanical engineering principles.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as Siemens NX and Valor for design review and array panel creation.
• Ability to perform root cause and failure analysis using techniques like X-Ray, Optical Microscopy, and SEM/EDS.
• Familiarity with advanced soldering methods, PCBA material selection, and PCB fabrication processes.
• Experience with common PCBA inspection and test techniques such as SPI, AOI, and AXI.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 25%.
