As a Design Engineer, DFM / DFA, you will join the hardware team to bridge the gap between product design and production reality for autonomous air, land, and maritime systems. You will be responsible for designing robust, mission-ready components and assemblies from concept through high-rate production. Your daily work involves applying rigorous DFM and DFA principles to maximize throughput while managing complex manufacturing processes including welded structures, 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining, injection molding, and advanced composite fabrication. You will author engineering drawing packages following ASME Y14.5 standards, perform 1D/3D tolerance stack-up analyses, and create detailed work instructions for the production floor. To succeed, you must be proficient in SolidWorks, NX, or Creo, and possess deep expertise in GD&T, structural bonding, and manufacturing documentation to solve critical assembly bottlenecks and ensure scalable hardware deployment.
