DFM PCBA Engineer

What you'll do

• Conduct DFM reviews of rigid and flexible PCBA designs to provide actionable feedback to design teams.
• Optimize manufacturing processes, including process flows, assembly materials, panel array designs, and critical parameters.
• Develop and implement internal guidelines and best practices for PCB design and assembly across product lines.
• Execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) and test builds to establish manufacturing boundary conditions and validate new technologies.
• Lead root cause and failure analysis investigations using advanced techniques like X-ray, SEM/EDS, and cross-sectioning.
• Assess and verify the technical capabilities of PCB assembly vendors to identify potential risks.
• Establish design rules and formulas to ensure the creation of manufacturable component land patterns.
• Use internal LLM tools and automation to streamline decision-making in design and manufacturing workflows.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in PCBA, electronic assembly, or a related field.
• Proficiency with industry-standard CAD tools such as Siemens NX and Valor.
• Ability to perform advanced root cause and failure analysis using techniques like X-ray, SEM/EDS, and FTIR.
• Familiarity with various advanced soldering methods and PCBA material selection considerations.
• Knowledge of PCB fabrication, flexible PCB fabrication, and first-level interconnect (FLI) Si packaging processes.
• Experience with common PCBA inspection and test techniques such as SPI, AOI, X-ray, AXI, and ICT.
• Proficiency in statistical process control and data analysis software like JMP, Minitab, or MATLAB.
