The Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Support Technician III joins the Digital Modernization Sector and DoD Enterprise and Cyber Operations team to support GIG capabilities and services within the 24x7 Global Operations Center. This role involves performing network operations, including configuration and analysis of customer circuits across TDM and SIP trunks, while proactively monitoring alarms using platform-specific management tools. The technician will resolve complex issues via the ServiceNow platform, manage incident tickets, and perform configuration maintenance on route plans and device profiles to ensure maximum network availability. Key technical requirements include a Security+ CE certification, an active Top Secret clearance, and knowledge of voice infrastructure, IP network topologies, Juniper technologies, Cisco systems, and packet capture analysis. The role addresses critical communication challenges by providing situational awareness for Defense Red Switch Network operations and ensuring seamless connectivity for national security organizations.
Monitor network alarms across platform-specific management tools to ensure continuous service availability.
Execute network operations including the configuration and analysis of TDM and SIP customer circuits.
Manage the full lifecycle of incident tickets by documenting outages, isolations, escalations, and resolutions.
Perform configuration maintenance on route plans, device profiles, calling search spaces, and route partitions.
Provide global situational awareness and timely updates to leadership during network incidents.
Identify and recommend technical solutions for network incidents and configuration deficiencies.
Develop and recommend improved processes for UC and DRSN operations.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have an active Top Secret security clearance.
Must hold a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start date.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2 to 4 years of prior relevant experience required.
Ability to work in a 24x7 shift work environment including nights and weekends.
General understanding of both voice infrastructure and IP network topologies.
Experience with circuit actions, tech control facilities, or cyber transport (preferred); experience with Juniper, Cisco, or VoIP technologies (preferred).
