WPC Engineering seeks a DataServices Engineer to join their dynamic team responsible for high-performance, highly available data services that power Apple’s financial systems at massive scale. In this role, you will architect, scale, and evolve data infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments, driving the design of critical data platforms and leading automation initiatives to enhance reliability. You will work closely with application teams to ensure operational excellence and manage large-scale challenges independently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with distributed data platforms like Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, and AWS services such as Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS MSK, ElastiCache, and Kubernetes for containerized database workloads. Strong skills in Terraform, Ansible, Crossplane, Python, and database internals are essential, along with a proven track record of designing HA/DR strategies and large-scale infrastructure transitions.

Strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Crossplane for building scalable automation.
Experience deploying and managing containerized database workloads on Kubernetes in production settings.
Solid Python skills for automation, operational tooling, and platform workflows.
Proven experience designing HA/DR strategies and executing zero-downtime migrations.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to influence and drive alignment across engineering teams.
