What you'll do

  • Resolve Tier III critical issues by diagnosing system failures and coordinating with technical subject matter experts.
  • Monitor database server performance, including health status, backup processes, scheduled jobs, and disk storage.
  • Manage daily operations for web applications, operating systems, file management, and multiple environment types.
  • Maintain and update system documentation, business process flows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate the resolution of security scan findings to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Perform database administration tasks including installation, configuration, migration, and performance tuning for SQL Server and MySQL.
  • Execute T-SQL scripts for automation, query optimization, and the creation of stored procedures and triggers.
  • Manage data integrity through backup strategies, recovery planning, and role-based access control.

What we're looking for

  • Must have a BA/BS degree with 10+ years of related IT experience, or an MA/MS with 7+ years of related IT experience.
  • Must have at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Must possess skills in Agile Methodology, Database Administration, and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Experience with Database Administration in Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL relational database management systems (preferred).
  • Experience designing, creating, and supporting Data warehouses (preferred).
  • Experience with relevant operations and maintenance support for a major federal IT system (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Linux administration, Windows administration, and Veritas NetBackup (preferred).
  • Knowledge of SDLC, ETL processes, and various programming languages like Bash, YAML, Python, and PHP (preferred).
