What you'll do

Design, develop, and maintain production and test PostgreSQL databases.
Architect and maintain database instances across multiple runtime environments.
Guide and support database deployments using Docker Swarm and related tooling.
Provide operations support by handling incidents and investigating production issues.
Design and implement database access layers and automation tooling using Python.
Define and promote engineering best practices for coding, testing, and code reviews.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies and manage backlogs using Jira and Confluence.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers by providing technical guidance and feedback.

What we're looking for

Must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at the time of application.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in Science with 2+ years of experience, or 0+ years with a Master's, or 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5+ years of experience, or 3+ years with a Master's, or 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Significant professional experience as a Database Engineer with relational databases, including schema design, SQL, indexing, and performance tuning.
Advanced experience with PostgreSQL, including querying, optimization, migrations, and ORMs.
Proficiency in Python and experience working in Linux environments.
Experience using GitLab, Jira, and Confluence within a modern software development lifecycle including Agile and CI/CD.
Familiarity with Rust (preferred).
Familiarity with Docker, Docker Swarm, or similar container orchestration platforms (preferred).
Experience or certification as a Scrum Master (preferred).
