What you'll do

  • Implement all database changes using Infrastructure as Code via Terraform and GitHub PRs.
  • Manage large transactional replication with low-latency delivery using BigQuery as a target.
  • Establish backup, restore, PITR, HA/failover testing, and disaster recovery runbooks.
  • Perform schema reviews, query optimization, and BigQuery governance with engineering teams.
  • Automate database operations and manage CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
  • Support incident response and participate in off-hours on-call rotations.
  • Execute scheduled maintenance including patching and VLDB index work.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of prior hands-on DBA experience, preferably with Postgres and MongoDB.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience administering and optimizing PostgreSQL environments, including transactional replication expertise.
  • Knowledge of GCP Cloud SQL PostgreSQL and general PostgreSQL database management.
  • Experience with Terraform, IaC, and GitHub for managing database infrastructure changes.
  • Experience with high-availability architectures and disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Experience with Memorystore for Redis, AlloyDB, Spanner, and BigQuery (preferred).
  • Experience with other cloud DB platforms such as Azure SQL or AWS RDS (preferred).
