JOB TITLE: Data Workflow Analysis & Optimization, VP II - State Street Investment Management
The VP II, Data Workflow Analysis & Optimization leads the design, documentation, and optimization of data governance and operations workflows across business, data product, and technology domains. This role focuses on improving data lineage, managing metadata, resolving data fragmentation, and embedding scalable controls into modern platforms. You will design future-state workflows, establish standard methods for requirements capture, and define data quality capabilities. Key responsibilities include rationalizing data stores and ensuring alignment with privacy and audit requirements. You will utilize technologies including Databricks Unity Catalog, Snowflake, Collibra, Informatica, and Alteryx. The role leverages artificial intelligence and Generative AI to automate manual tasks. You will partner with global stakeholders to simplify processes and improve transparency, control effectiveness, and business trust in critical data assets.
Analyze current-state data workflows to identify inefficiencies, manual handoffs, fragmentation, and control gaps.
Design and document future-state workflows to improve consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Manage processes for documenting business and technical data lineage across critical data assets and platforms.
Define standards for metadata management, including business glossaries, ownership, stewardship, and data classification.
Identify data fragmentation and develop recommendations to rationalize workflows and reduce redundant data movement.
Create functional specifications for data quality capabilities, including rule design, monitoring, and remediation workflows.
Embed data privacy, access controls, and compliance requirements into data workflows and platform capabilities.
Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to reduce manual work and accelerate governance execution.
What we're looking for
10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Business Analysis, Process Optimization, Data Operations, or related disciplines.
Strong background in asset management, investment management, banking, capital markets, or broader financial services.
Demonstrated experience designing and managing data lineage, metadata, data quality, and governance workflows.
Experience defining business requirements, functional specifications, operating procedures, controls, and executive-ready documentation.
Hands-on or implementation experience with governance and data tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, and Informatica.
Familiarity with regulatory expectations, financial services control frameworks, data privacy, audit, compliance, and risk management disciplines.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Finance, Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (preferred).
