As a Data Governance & Compliance Lead, you will join the team to ensure the quality, integrity, and timeliness of operational data for the Association. You will be responsible for establishing and enforcing data policies, standards, and processes while monitoring usage to achieve business objectives. Your daily work involves developing multi-year roadmaps, creating training content, and serving as a mentor to cross-functional members. You will manage risk mitigation frameworks, conduct audits, and monitor KRIs and KPIs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires expertise in information architecture, data engineering processes, and risk management. Key skills include advanced knowledge of data governance best practices and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable strategies. This position addresses critical challenges in maintaining high standards for data management within a highly regulated financial services environment.
Establish and enforce data policies, standards, and processes to ensure quality and integrity of operational data.
Develop multi-year roadmaps and implementation plans for information governance initiatives.
Author information governance guidelines, principles, and policies for stakeholders and technical teams.
Monitor compliance through audits, peer reviews, and tracking of key risk and performance indicators.
Create training content based on regulatory requirements and industry best practices to educate the organization.
Identify, measure, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with compliance policies.
Serve as a subject matter expert to mentor team members and grow the information governance community.
Present formal findings and recommendations regarding data management to leadership across the organization.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field, or 4 years of relevant education and experience.
Advanced degree in a related technical field with 6 years of experience in information or data practices.
8 years of experience in information or data practices including governance, management, risk, audit, architecture, IT, analysis, and reporting.
2 years of experience creating and evolving Data Development and Data Engineering processes.
2 years of operational knowledge of risk management and mitigation frameworks.
Expert knowledge of industry information/data governance best practices.
Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), Information Governance Professional (IGP), Certified Information Professional, or equivalent certification.
Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or other highly regulated industries (preferred); CDMP certification (preferred).
