As a Data Engineer and Data Pipeline Specialist, you will join a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced agile environment. You will be responsible for the assessment, design, development, and maintenance of scalable platforms to organize disparate data into meaningful insights. Your daily work involves building and deploying pipelines, creating software for retrieving and parsing structured and unstructured data, and developing scalable ETL/ELT workflows for reporting and analytics. You will utilize programming languages including C++, Java, and Python, while potentially leveraging SQL, Scala, Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, Kafka, MongoDB, Cassandra, AWS Redshift, MySQL, Snowflake, and Linux. This role addresses critical technical problems in fraud detection, cancer research, and national intelligence.

Write scripts and programs to convert various data types into usable formats.
Support the scaling, monitoring, and operation of data platforms.
Perform analytical exploration and data examination to support client missions.

What we're looking for

2+ years of experience utilizing programming languages including C++, Java, or Python.
2+ years of experience developing and maintaining scalable data stores for big data business analysis.
Experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data.
Experience developing scalable ETL/ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
Experience creating solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
Ability to develop scripts and programs for data conversion and support scaling, monitoring, and operating data platforms.
Bachelor’s degree.
