TL;DR · Data Center Manager

Data Center Manager The Data Center Manager leads U.S. Data Center Management operations to support mission-critical infrastructure across an enterprise environment. This role is responsible for ensuring operational reliability, managing physical infrastructure lifecycles, and overseeing day-to-day execution including rack deployments, cabling, power coordination, and hardware lifecycle work. The manager oversees a team of technical staff and contractors while managing vendor relationships, change governance, and audit readiness in a highly controlled, process-driven environment. Key responsibilities include maintaining inventory accuracy via DCIM and asset management platforms, ensuring documentation discipline, and coordinating complex migrations involving compute, storage, network, private cloud, and mainframe-class systems. The role requires expertise in structured cabling, power, cooling, and UPS infrastructure to solve challenges related to infrastructure modernization and the evolving requirements of remote or colocation-based operating models within a regulated financial services context.

What you'll do

  • Manage day-to-day physical infrastructure operations including rack deployments, cabling, power coordination, and hardware lifecycle activities.
  • Lead and develop a team of site-based technical staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure operational continuity.
  • Oversee the data center workload intake model using IT service management and change management tools.
  • Review and govern Methods of Procedure for high-risk activities like live-power events and migrations.
  • Maintain an audit-ready environment by ensuring accurate asset inventory and consistent documentation of all workflows.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract compliance, purchase orders, and coordination of third-party labor.
  • Provide strategic input on infrastructure modernization, site planning, and the evolution of operating models.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting on operational metrics, risk assessments, and project status updates.

What we're looking for

  • 10 or more years of experience in enterprise data center engineering, infrastructure deployment, site operations, or mission-critical technology operations.
  • Experience supporting or leading infrastructure operations in a regulated, high-control, or mission-critical environment.
  • Proven ability to lead complex physical infrastructure work including lifecycle activity, hardware deployments, migrations, and power coordination.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data center infrastructure including compute, storage, network, private cloud, and mainframe-class environments.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling standards, high-density optical connectivity, and related labeling/documentation practices.
  • Working knowledge of data center power, cooling, UPS, generator-backed infrastructure, and environmental considerations.
  • Experience with IT service management, change management, DCIM, asset management, or inventory-control platforms.
  • Work Authorization.
