The Data Center Critical Infrastructure Engineer joins the Network Operations team to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical infrastructure systems within company facilities. This role involves managing essential systems including electrical power distribution, UPS equipment, generators, HVAC, fire life safety, and related facility infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing site audits for capacity management, executing network infrastructure projects with vendors, maintaining asset databases and floor plans, and monitoring device performance indicators. The successful candidate will utilize diagnostic and maintenance tools to ensure operational readiness in business-critical environments. Required expertise includes knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, or mechanical equipment, alongside skills in vendor coordination and technical documentation. This role solves the challenge of maintaining high availability for critical infrastructure by ensuring all facility components function reliably within a data center environment.
Perform capacity management activities through site audits and equipment modeling.
Manage ticket systems and infrastructure planning according to established protocols.
Coordinate floor plan updates and manage equipment inventory for distribution infrastructure.
Monitor device performance indicators and oversee the onboarding of new devices.
Gather data and recommend solutions for infrastructure problem-solving tasks.
Execute network projects by coordinating with vendors and tracking project milestones.
Maintain critical documentation including asset databases, floor plans, and capacity reports.
Conduct routine health checks and coordinate maintenance activities for power, HVAC, and fire systems.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience supporting critical infrastructure, facility operations, data center environments, building systems, industrial maintenance, or related operational facilities.
Working knowledge of one or more critical infrastructure disciplines including electrical systems, power distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, fire life safety, plumbing, or mechanical equipment.
Experience using common diagnostic and maintenance tools.
Ability to read, maintain, and follow maintenance schedules, operating procedures, preventive maintenance documentation, and site standards.
Experience documenting operational activities and maintaining technical records, procedures, reports, or infrastructure documentation.
Ability to safely perform work in operational facilities and coordinate activities with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to supporting business-critical operations including nights and weekends.
