The Data Center Capacity Planner manages capacity planning, forecasting, and lifecycle management across global data center and hybrid cloud infrastructure environments. Working with Manufacturing, Engineering, SMAI, and Corporate IT teams, you will translate business demand into actionable plans while driving capacity optimization, refresh planning, and governance processes. You will monitor infrastructure utilization for compute, storage, network, power, cooling, and rack space to identify risks and opportunities. The role involves developing rolling forecasts using AI-enabled tools, advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and digital infrastructure planning capabilities to improve investment decisions and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include scenario modeling for AI workloads, resource reclamation, and reporting via platforms like Power BI or Tableau. You will ensure infrastructure readiness by managing procurement records and aligning capacity plans with resiliency, security, and compliance requirements across the global portfolio.
Maintain a comprehensive view of global infrastructure capacity across on-premises and cloud environments including compute, storage, network, and power.
Monitor infrastructure utilization and demand trends to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for resource reclamation.
Develop rolling 3-to-24-month capacity forecasts using business demand signals, technology roadmaps, and predictive modeling.
Perform scenario modeling to assess the impact of growth, technology transitions, and AI workload demands on infrastructure.
Establish and manage governance processes, standards, and policies for capacity buffers and lifecycle management.
Translate forecasting data into actionable purchasing plans, budget requirements, and deployment schedules with procurement and finance teams.
Develop executive-level dashboards and reports to communicate risk assessments and investment recommendations to leadership.
Utilize AI-enabled tools and automation to improve the accuracy of data collection and infrastructure planning.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud operations, data center operations, capacity planning, or technology lifecycle management.
Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments including compute, storage, networking, and cloud technologies.
Strong analytical, forecasting, reporting, automation, operational planning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to present technical and business recommendations to executive team members.
Demonstrated ability to use AI-powered tools and data analytics to improve business outcomes.
Experience with large-scale global data center and enterprise infrastructure environments.
Knowledge of FinOps, resource optimization, ITIL, SRE, and reporting platforms like Power BI or Tableau.
