The Data Architecture/Data Fabric Manager - Utilities joins a specialized team focused on designing data foundations and governance models to transform production-grade intelligence for utilities organizations. In this role, you will architect enterprise data fabric solutions that provide unified, automated access to distributed data across on-premise and multi-cloud environments. You will be responsible for integrating data virtualization, active metadata, knowledge graphs, and cataloging into a connected layer while establishing reference architectures and integration patterns. The position requires expertise in cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, and BigQuery, alongside experience with API, streaming architectures, and ETL/ELT tools. You will apply data mesh and data product concepts to solve complex problems for electric, gas, or water utility clients, ensuring seamless real-time data delivery and self-service capabilities across the enterprise.
Design enterprise data fabric solutions to provide unified and automated access to distributed data across multi-cloud environments.
Integrate data virtualization, active metadata, knowledge graphs, and cataloging into a connected layer for analytics and AI.
Establish reference architectures, integration patterns, and governance models that scale across the enterprise.
Enable self-service consumption, data products, and real-time data delivery through the established data fabric.
Apply modern data paradigms such as data mesh, cloud platforms, and streaming architectures to solve client problems.
Act as a trusted advisor to client leaders to shape solutions for major data modernization projects.
What we're looking for
Minimum of 7 years of experience in data architecture or enterprise data engineering.
Minimum of 4 years of experience architecting data fabric solutions including data virtualization, active metadata, knowledge graphs, and automated integration.
Minimum of 4 years of experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, or BigQuery.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with data integration/ETL/ELT and metadata and lineage tooling.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with API and streaming architectures.
Minimum of 1 year of experience serving utilities clients or in a utilities finance, controllership, or regulatory function.
Bachelor's degree required, or an Associate's degree with work experience.
Master's degree in a relevant field and cloud or data platform architecture certifications are preferred.
