As a Data & Analytics Engineer, Health & Fitness, Sensing & Connectivity, you will join the Applied Health & Sensing team to build and monitor data pipelines that transform raw motion data from consumer-grade sensors into actionable health insights. You will design scalable, parallelized pipelines to process complex time-series data, develop tools and dashboards for research exploration, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data quality and study integrity. The role involves running analytics to validate algorithm performance against ground truth and building automated QA metrics. To succeed, you must possess strong Python programming skills, proficiency in SQL, and experience with distributed computing frameworks like Apache Spark. You will work across functional teams to support the integration of health software while navigating technical challenges involving sensor data, time-series analysis, and large-scale data processing systems.
Design and develop scalable, parallelized data pipelines to process complex time-series health data from consumer sensors.
Build tools and dashboards to visualize data and support research insights and exploration.
Gather requirements from stakeholders to contribute to study design and data quality monitoring processes.
Run analytics to validate algorithm simulation outputs against ground truth data.
Create automated QA metrics to track the performance of features over time.
Support the integration, testing, and deployment of health software in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
What we're looking for
BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 3 years of industry experience building and maintaining large-scale data processing or simulation pipelines, or performing large-scale data analysis.
Strong programming skills in Python with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and high-performance code.
Familiarity with SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing structured data.
Hands-on experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
Comfort leveraging AI tools to accelerate problem-solving and development.
Applied machine learning experience, including building models on large datasets (preferred).
Experience with sensor data, time-series data, healthcare datasets, cloud environments, or Linux (preferred).
