TL;DR · Software AI Tools Engineer, Sensing & Connectivity

Location Software AI Tools Engineer, Sensing & Connectivity joins the Sensing and Connectivity team to validate and advance next-generation location algorithms. This role focuses on integrating AI-native tooling and agentic workflows into existing automation infrastructure to accelerate algorithm validation across sensing domains. The engineer will build agentic data pipelines to curate and quality-check location datasets while developing an end-to-end replay system to measure the reliability and performance of stack changes before mainline submission. Key responsibilities include defining benchmarks for model quality and partnering with hardware, app, and platform teams to ship AI-driven experiences. Required skills include proficiency in Python, experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks. The role addresses the technical challenge of fusing GNSS, Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth signals to ensure accurate positioning for navigation, fitness applications, and emergency services.

What you'll do

  • Design and deploy AI-native tooling and agentic workflows to accelerate algorithm validation across location sensing domains.
  • Build agentic data pipelines to ingest, curate, and quality-check large location datasets.
  • Develop an end-to-end replay system to measure the reliability and behavior of stack changes before mainline submission.
  • Define benchmarks and evaluation frameworks to measure model quality and real-world positioning performance.
  • Partner with hardware, app, and platform teams to build and ship AI-driven features from the ground up.
  • Own the quality bar for location features by integrating advanced AI capabilities into user-facing products.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building and shipping ML or AI systems in production or through significant project work.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks.
  • Experience designing evaluation frameworks, quality metrics, and test infrastructure.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Python and comfort across the stack.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end features against release schedules.
  • Understanding of A-GNSS protocols, multi-constellation GNSS operation, embedded ML systems, and sensor-fusion architectures.
  • Familiarity with distributed compute platforms and large-scale data infrastructure.
