The Cyber / Principal Cyber Systems Engineer joins the cross functional Northern Virginia Engineering Discipline Team to provide engineering and administrative support for mission critical and mission essential infrastructure. The role involves analyzing existing systems and networks to make proactive recommendations, integrating new network systems, and maintaining STIG configurations for network devices. Responsibilities include responding to security findings, creating Standard Operating Procedures, and developing VISIO diagrams. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Linux environments, IPv4 network design, and protocols like SNMP, SSH, and syslog. Preferred technical skills include FreeIPA, Puppet, Splunk, Bitwarden, NAGIOS, and CLAM-AV. Provide engineering and administrative support for a team of system engineers.
Develop, implement, and support solutions for mission-critical and mission-essential infrastructure.
Analyze existing systems and networks to provide proactive recommendations for efficiency.
Integrate new and existing network systems into the infrastructure.
Maintain, evaluate, test, and apply STIG configurations for network devices.
Respond to security findings and break-fix events across the infrastructure.
Create and maintain system network documentation, including SOPs and VISIO diagrams.
What we're looking for

U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance.
For Cyber Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience, Master's with 0 years, PhD with 0 years, or 7 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
For Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, Master's with 3 years, PhD with 1 year, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Familiarity with designing and maintaining LAN & WAN based networks and working in Linux environments as a systems administrator.
Familiarity with IPv4 network design, including IP subnetting, protocols, and network management protocols like SNMP, SSH, and syslog.
Experience with FreeIPA, Puppet, Splunk, Bitwarden, Vaultwarden, NAGIOS, CLAM-AV, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, Intermapper, WhatsupGold, or VM setup (preferred).
