The Cyber Systems Engineer / Principal Cyber Systems Engineer joins the team responsible for developing and supporting state-of-the-art Mission Planning systems. In this role, you will design, implement, and assess security controls and policies compliant with NIST SP 800-53 and CNSSI 1253. You will collaborate with software development and cyber teams to document deployment plans, troubleshoot hardware and software in CI/CD environments, and manage networking configurations. The position involves providing technical analyses of infrastructure challenges and supporting the installation and acceptance testing of systems at customer sites. Key requirements include experience with Linux and Windows systems per DoD STIG requirements, CompTIA Security+ certification, and familiarity with Agile methodologies. Technical skills include hardware and software integration, COTS incorporation, and managing cloud environments using Azure or AWS to support critical military mission planning infrastructure.
Design, plan, and assess security controls and policies compliant with NIST SP 800-53 and CNSSI 1253.
Collaborate with software development and cyber teams to implement and document system deployment plans.
Troubleshoot hardware and software deployments within development CI/CD environments and at customer sites.
Implement changes to hardware, software, and networking configurations.
Coordinate with customer ISSMs and ISSOs to develop and implement changes for systems seeking an ATO/IATT.
Provide technical analyses of cyber infrastructure challenges and develop responsive solutions for customer needs.
Support the installation, checkout, and acceptance testing of systems at customer locations.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must possess an active DoD Top Secret clearance (adjudicated within the last 5 years or under continuous evaluation).
Ability to obtain a Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer/Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field for Cyber Systems Engineer role.
Master's degree in a STEM discipline for Cyber Systems Engineer role.
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer/Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field for Principal Cyber Systems Engineer role.
Master's degree in a STEM discipline for Principal Cyber Systems Engineer role.
CompTIA Security+ Certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 certification).
