CTO - Healthcare & Life Sciences serves as a senior individual contributor on the HLS industry team, acting as a technical leader for Microsoft Frontier Company. The role involves identifying and scaling agentic technology patterns while translating complex mission needs into secure, compliant solution architectures. You will bridge the gap between engineering teams, product groups, and field sales to shape roadmaps based on market signals and regulatory requirements. Define and evolve the HLS technology vision focusing on AI, agentic solutions, security, and regulatory compliance.
Translate customer requirements and market signals into actionable engineering feedback and product roadmap priorities.
Identify common customer needs to create reusable architectures, playbooks, and scalable solution assets.
Act as a strategic advisor to senior customer leaders on frontier technologies and agentic AI transformation.
Represent the company in industry forums, standards bodies, and policy discussions to build technical credibility.
Resolve technical and policy blockers that impact strategic customer commitments and large-scale delivery.
Develop partner integration and platform adoption strategies with software vendors and systems integrators.
Create mechanisms to share lessons learned and technical guidance to scale successful engagements globally.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, public policy, or related field and 8+ years of experience in technology strategy, architecture, or product strategy.
Master's degree in a relevant field and 6+ years of related experience.
Equivalent professional experience to the specified educational and experience requirements.
Expertise in AI, cloud, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and/or technology policy.
Knowledge of trends relevant to global Healthcare and Life Sciences verticals including Provider, Payor, Pharma, and MedTech.
Experience leading initiatives involving sovereignty, compliance, security, and mission-critical regulated environments.
Demonstrated ability to influence product or engineering strategy across multiple organizations without direct authority.
Experience with executive customer engagement, public speaking, and participating in standards bodies or thought leadership.
