Critical Facilities Chief Engineer, Data Center Operations

What you'll do

• Lead and manage a diverse team of electrical, mechanical, and automation technicians.
• Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of all critical facility systems.
• Respond to facility emergencies and perform root cause analysis for incident resolution.
• Manage vendor relationships, contract terms, and service level agreement compliance.
• Execute risk assessments and implement controls to optimize power and cooling performance.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and manage maintenance cost controls.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and technical training programs.
• Test and integrate new technologies to improve efficiency and sustainability.

What we're looking for

• Associate degree or equivalent experience/training in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a data center or similar critical operations environment.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure including power systems, cooling systems, and backup power solutions.
• Ability to provide on-call support for rapid emergency response.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
• 7+ years of data center leadership experience or similar critical operations environment (preferred).
• Skilled in coordinating with professionals for corrective actions, incident reporting, and root cause analysis (preferred).
• Excellent negotiation skills, CMMS proficiency, and ability to interpret complex data (preferred).
