Critical Environment Operating Engineer As a Critical Environment Operating Engineer at JLL, you will join a team dedicated to maintaining mission-critical data center infrastructure to ensure 100% uptime for vital digital operations. Your daily tasks involve recording equipment readings, identifying malfunctions, performing corrective actions, managing work orders through a CMMS, and coordinating with vendors to resolve customer-facing tickets. You will utilize tools such as MS Office, Google Suite, and Corrigo while navigating complex infrastructure like HVAC, chillers, and industrial controls. This role solves the critical problem of maintaining continuous power and cooling in high-stakes environments where seamless 24/7 performance is essential for global connectivity.

What you'll do

Operate and maintain critical building systems including UPS, generators, cooling units, and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure to ensure 100% uptime.
Monitor and adjust refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning equipment, boilers, pumps, and valves for optimal performance.
Record equipment readings and analyze system operations to identify malfunctions and perform immediate corrective actions.
Manage work orders through a CMMS, coordinate with vendors, and respond to customer-facing tickets promptly.
Follow emergency escalation procedures and respond to site emergencies to protect critical infrastructure.
Maintain safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials while ensuring the workplace meets all safety standards.

What we're looking for

Must have 2+ years of hands-on experience in a data center or critical facility environment.
Must have demonstrated experience with mission-critical systems including UPS, emergency generators, switchgear, and power distribution.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to document activities and communicate technical information.
Must have working knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 30 feet, work at heights, and navigate rooftops.
Must be available to work different schedules including holidays and respond to site emergencies.
Experience with Corrigo, Universal EPA 608 certification, or NFPA 70E training (preferred).
Background in industrial controls, building automation systems, vendor management, or relevant trade certifications (preferred).
