Contractor Special Security Officer
The Contractor Special Security Officer joins the Special Access Program Security team to manage, direct, and develop security programs for sensitive contracts requiring requirements beyond 32 CFR Part 117. The role requires expertise in DoDM 5205.07, NISPOM, and ICD-705 technical specifications. Manage and oversee security programs for contracts with requirements exceeding standard NISPOM rules.
Interface with government agencies to manage all security-related aspects of assigned special access programs.
Maintain personnel security records and process eligibility determinations using systems like SIMS, DISS, and JADE.
Conduct internal self-inspections and manage government-led security assessments and visits.
Maintain classified material accountability records including inventory lists, receipt logs, and transmittal documentation.
Develop Program Protection Plans (PPPs) and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Investigate and document security violations while providing corrective action recommendations to leadership.
Create and deliver formal security education and training modules for program personnel.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent education and work experience.
At least five years of experience working with special programs in an ACSSO/CSSO role (or equivalent ACPSO/CPSO experience).
Detailed working knowledge and practical application of DoDM 5205.07, Special Access Program (SAP) Security Manual.
Detailed knowledge of Department of Defense policies, instructions, and manuals pertinent to special access program security including NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills.
DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with Special Program access.
