Staff Software Engineer II, Secure Compute

What you'll do

• Define and drive the technical direction for the Secure Compute platform architecture and security protocols.
• Design and implement Kubernetes controllers and operators in Go to manage workload lifecycle and isolation.
• Develop multi-tenant infrastructure primitives to safely execute customer and internal workloads across public clouds.
• Create and evolve APIs that provide safe abstractions for polyglot workloads like containers and functions.
• Lead technical design reviews to ensure platform components are secure, scalable, and easy for teams to adopt.
• Manage operational excellence by overseeing reliability, performance metrics, incident management, and disaster recovery.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and guidance on best practices for infrastructure development.

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Candidates must have 10+ years of experience delivering scalable backend or infrastructure software in production.
• Proven track record of leading the delivery of large-scale, highly available, low-latency distributed systems is required.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes is required, including controller development and multi-region or multi-cluster architectures.
• Strong proficiency in Go for building production-grade services and control planes is required.
• Experience with multi-tenant platform architectures and security/isolation patterns like network policies and identity management is required.
• Hands-on experience with secure container runtimes, low-level Linux internals, and public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) is required.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in mentoring engineers and driving cross-team alignment on architecture and strategy is required.
