What you'll do

Build and evolve a unified control plane to manage software rollout, upgrades, and recovery across multi-cloud fleets.
Develop systems to coordinate placement, maintenance, and state transitions for services running on Confluent Cloud.
Design and enhance APIs that provide clean abstractions for deployment workflows and fleet-wide operational controls.
Build and optimize integrations with AWS, GCP, and Azure to enable seamless end-to-end operations.
Implement and strengthen isolation, security controls, and safe operational boundaries across management systems.
Drive operational excellence through monitoring, automated health checks, and self-healing remediation workflows.

What we're looking for

A Bachelor's degree is required.
A Master's degree is preferred.
Candidates must have at least 6 years of experience delivering scalable software solutions.
Deep expertise in Kubernetes, including controller development, operator patterns, and multi-cluster architectures is required.
Strong proficiency in Go for building production-grade backend or platform services is required.
Experience with fleet-wide lifecycle management, deployment orchestration, or cloud infrastructure automation is required.
Experience running production services in cloud environments with knowledge of reliability, networking, and security is required.
Preferred experience includes multi-tenant architectures, gRPC/Protobuf, and technical leadership.
