What you'll do

  • Research, design, develop, and enhance various components of the LLVM compilation suite.
  • Analyze performance, code size, and other metrics to identify specific compiler improvements.
  • Evaluate software requirements and determine feasible designs within hardware constraints for Qualcomm SoCs.
  • Identify and resolve system-level integration issues in coordination with development and test teams.
  • Develop and execute benchmark scenarios and tests to validate compiler performance.
  • Optimize the compilation stack including programming languages, intermediate representations, and code generation.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of compiler engineering experience in industry or academia.
  • Experience with compiler frameworks such as LLVM or GCC.
  • Proficiency in programming using C/C++ and assembly languages.
  • Knowledge of instruction sets and computer architectures including pipeline structure, hazards, cache, and memory organization.
  • Working knowledge of system software tools like assemblers, linkers, and debuggers.
  • Experience working with large scale software codebases and deep knowledge of software engineering.
