As a Chief SW Engineer within the Commercial and Money Movement Solutions team, you will lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable, secure, API-centric distributed systems for B2B payables and money movement products. You will remain hands-on in building core platform components and services while establishing engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and integration patterns across teams. The role focuses on developing cloud-native services with an emphasis on reliability, security, and observability. A primary focus is the integration of GenAI for product innovation, intelligent automation, and developer productivity through agentic and workflow-driven systems. You will utilize technologies including Java, Spring, REST, gRPC, container technologies, and API gateways. This role addresses complex technical challenges in the payments and fintech domain, specifically solving problems related to high-scale transaction environments where compliance and security are critical.
Architect and develop scalable, secure, API-centric distributed systems for B2B payables and money movement products.
Build core platform components and services while remaining hands-on in the development of engineering patterns.
Establish software development standards, reusable frameworks, and integration patterns across multiple teams.
Develop cloud-native services with a focus on scalability, resilience, observability, security, and maintainability.
Lead the adoption of GenAI for product innovation, intelligent automation, and developer productivity.
Design and implement agentic and workflow-driven systems that leverage modern AI capabilities in production environments.
Mentor senior engineers to improve code quality and raise the technical bar across the organization.
Influence enterprise-level technology choices and platform strategies in alignment with corporate engineering principles.
What we're looking for
Candidates must have 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 9+ years with an Advanced degree, or 6+ years with a PhD, or 15+ years total.
Experience building large-scale backend or platform systems is required (preferred: 12+ years).
Proven expertise in distributed systems design, cloud-native architecture, and highly scalable service development is required.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with GenAI, including AI-native applications, workflow orchestration, or agent-based systems is preferred.
Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, containers, caching, security, and platform integration patterns is required.
Experience with Java and modern backend frameworks like Spring is preferred.
Proficiency with REST, gRPC, container technologies, API gateways, DevOps, and infrastructure automation is required.
Background in payments, fintech, or high-scale transaction environments is preferred.
