Staff CAD Application Engineer

What you'll do

• Manage the global deployment and maintenance of PWB EDA tools including Cadence Allegro and Siemens Xpedition.
• Develop automated processes for EDA tools using scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or VB Script.
• Perform DFM analysis and validation on Gerber and ODB++ data for PCB fabrication.
• Evaluate PCB design trade-offs to ensure high-quality, cost-effective boards meet project schedules.
• Provide technical consulting and methodology support for internal engineering teams regarding PCB design flows.
• Resolve complex PCB design issues through coordination with Engineering and CAD departments.
• Install and maintain EDA tools, libraries, and associated server environments.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field with a Bachelor's degree.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field with a Master's degree.
• 2+ years of experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
• Proficiency in board layout tools including Cadence Allegro and Siemens Xpedition.
• Experience developing automation for EDA tools using VB Script, Python, Perl, Java, Skill, or Ravel.
• Knowledge of PCB fabrication, assembly processes, stack-up development, and controlled impedance requirements.
• Experience performing DFM analysis and validation on Gerber/ODB++ data for PCB fabrication.
