As the Business Program Manager - Capacity Automation & Backend Tools within the Capacity Shared Services team, you will manage critical workstreams to improve and scale processes, data flows, and integrations for prioritizing and allocating AI and non-AI Azure capacity. You will translate operational needs into clear requirements, partner with Engineering to deliver reliable automation, and use data to enhance quality, cycle time, and adoption across intake, decisioning, and governance workflows. The role involves managing a prioritized tooling backlog, implementing reusable solutions, and utilizing Microsoft Copilot and purpose-built agents to reduce manual effort. Key responsibilities include requirement analysis, cross-group collaboration with Finance and operations partners, and driving change management for new tools. You will leverage your expertise in cloud infrastructure capacity planning, including datacenter, compute, storage, network, and GPU systems, to solve complex scaling challenges within the One Capacity framework.

What you'll do

  • Lead end-to-end capacity automation and operational tooling programs to meet business goals and timelines.
  • Translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements, user stories, and functional specifications for engineering teams.
  • Identify and implement scalable solutions to automate manual processes and improve the efficiency of the Capacity Operating System.
  • Manage project lifecycles by tracking milestones, risks, and dependencies across multiple cross-functional workstreams.
  • Use data analytics and operational metrics to inform prioritization, decision-making, and process optimization.
  • Drive the adoption of new tools, automation capabilities, and governance standards through documentation and enablement materials.
  • Leverage Microsoft Copilot and AI-powered solutions to automate recurring workflows and enhance operational scale.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field and 4+ years of experience in program management, process management, or process improvement.
  • Direct professional experience with cloud infrastructure capacity planning including datacenter, compute, storage, network, or AI/GPU capacity management systems.
  • Experience with datacenter, compute, or infrastructure capacity management systems and tooling used to plan, allocate, monitor, and scale capacity (preferred).
  • Experience in cloud computing, including working for or with major cloud providers, customers, partners, or the broader industry (preferred).
  • Familiarity with AI capacity planning, GPU compute, large-scale model requirements, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and supply constraints (preferred).
  • Experience translating operational requirements into system, data, integration, and workflow requirements for scalable business processes (preferred).
  • Experience delivering operational tooling, automation, and process improvement initiatives in partnership with engineering and technical teams (preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills using operational datasets, dashboards, reporting tools, APIs, and data-driven insights to support decision-making (preferred).
