The Business Intelligence Developer Senior joins the engineering team to participate in all phases of the design and development life cycle for analytic applications and reporting tools. This role involves maintaining customer relationships to determine requirements, coding complex information system components, and mentoring others on coding standards. You will perform data discovery, establish connectivity to source systems, and develop strategic report applications from the data warehouse. Key technical requirements include advanced SQL skills for optimizing complex queries, joins, and window functions, along with experience in Snowflake, SQL Server, or SSIS. The work focuses on healthcare data exchange environments, specifically managing patient and prescription-level specialty pharmacy data, including demographics, shipment, and therapy lifecycle events, while ensuring data quality, operational controls, and HIPAA/PHI/PII privacy requirements are met.
Participate in all phases of the design and development life cycle for analytic applications and reporting tools.
Analyze and evaluate detailed business and technical requirements to define application scope and objectives.
Code and maintain complex components of information systems using SQL to extract and transform data.
Perform system testing, fix defects, and re-execute unit tests to validate results.
Establish connectivity to operations source systems and data repositories while maintaining data integrity.
Perform data discovery to identify strengths, limitations, and opportunities within available data sets.
Optimize existing SQL queries to ensure business-essential processes meet established service-level agreements.
Mentor team members on coding standards and provide training on Business Intelligence applications.
What we're looking for
Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience on one platform, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced SQL skills including writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries, joins, CTEs, window functions, and stored procedures (preferred).
Experience designing, developing, and supporting data feeds for pharmaceutical manufacturers or other healthcare data exchange environments (preferred).
Experience working with patient- and prescription-level specialty pharmacy data (preferred).
Experience interpreting manufacturer data specifications and translating source-to-target mapping into scalable ETL/ELT solutions (preferred).
Experience with data quality, operational controls, and healthcare data privacy including HIPAA/PHI/PII requirements (preferred).
Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, SQL Server, or SSIS (preferred).
