JOB TITLE: Business Intelligence Developer
The Business Intelligence Developer supports solutions that enable data-informed decision-making for assigned stakeholders. This role partners with internal business partners to translate requirements into dashboards, reports, and insights while ensuring data accuracy and usability. You will perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, use multiple SQL dialects to trace reporting data back to source systems, and build aggregates and semantic layers for high-performance reporting. Key responsibilities include creating visualizations in Tableau, migrating legacy software reporting to Tableau, and validating data quality across data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse architectures. Required skills include proficiency in SQL, Tableau for storytelling, and experience with cloud-based data platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. You will also document metrics and provide training to business users.
Create actionable visualizations and data stories using Tableau to support business insights.
Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into dashboards, reports, and insights.
Perform exploratory data analysis to identify hidden trends, outliers, and actionable opportunities.
Use multiple SQL dialects to trace reporting data to source systems and validate data lineage.
Design and build aggregates and semantic layers to support high-performance reporting.
Migrate legacy software reporting to Tableau while ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Document data flows, metrics definitions, and dashboards to support governance and scalability.
Provide training and guidance to business users on reporting capabilities and best practices.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of three years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data-reporting roles.
Proficiency in SQL to analyze, aggregate, and troubleshoot data across multiple dialects.
Knowledge of Tableau for dashboard creation, data storytelling, and embedded visualization.
Working understanding of data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse architecture.
Experience creating aggregates, semantic layers, and optimized schemas for reporting performance.
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Strong communication and presentation skills to translate data insights into business recommendations.
