The Building Automation Engineer works within a cross-functional team to ensure that critical infrastructure remains supportable, reliable, and ready for sustained operations. This individual contributor role involves performing analysis and technical execution to support the configuration, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation and OT systems. Key responsibilities include managing BMS, EPMS, PLCs, and SCADA/HMI systems, performing firmware updates, and monitoring OT security controls. The candidate will utilize skills in industrial networking, instrumentation, and controls engineering to support commissioning and system validation. Required technical competencies include knowledge of Ethernet/IP, VLANs, and industrial protocols. Preferred experience includes familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Ignition, or Niagara platforms, as well as scripting tools like Python or JavaScript to solve complex automation problems in mission-critical data center environments.
Support configuration, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of BMS, EPMS, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
Perform diagnostics, software updates, point-to-point verification, and device health reviews for OT infrastructure.
Monitor OT security controls and coordinate patching, access segmentation, and cybersecurity compliance.
Develop, test, and troubleshoot automation logic for critical mechanical and electrical systems.
Support commissioning, startup, turnover, and system validation for new or modified automation infrastructure.
Maintain technical documentation for control logic, point lists, network diagrams, and device inventories.
Resolve basic connectivity issues and controls faults for site teams and technicians.
What we're looking for

Candidates must have 3 to 5+ years of experience.
Applicants should have 0–2 years of experience in building automation, controls, OT, industrial networking, SCADA, instrumentation, or related engineering disciplines.
A degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Automation, Controls, or a related technical field is preferred.
Candidates should have a foundational understanding of automation and control systems, industrial networking, or OT/ICS environments.
Candidates should have a basic understanding of industrial controls, networking, and automation system components.
Coursework, labs, internships, or training related to Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Ignition, Niagara, or industrial networking is preferred.
