Behavioral Health Clinician
The Behavioral Health Clinician joins the healthcare services team to provide essential treatment support for personnel and their families. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based care through individual, family, and group settings while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance mission readiness and resilience. Daily responsibilities include conducting behavioral health assessments, providing brief interventions, performing case management, and participating in research and program development. You will utilize core competencies such as clinical practice, mental health counseling, and professional practices to manage cases and provide education on treatment regimens. The role requires expertise in psychotherapy, alcohol and drug treatment evaluations, and the use of validated symptom inventories. This position addresses critical psychological, emotional, and social well-being needs within a military context, specifically focusing on issues like PTSD and combat stress to support personnel in high-stakes environments.
Provide behavioral health assessments, counseling, and intervention services to personnel and their families.
Deliver evidence-based care in individual, family, and group settings.
Conduct clinical investigations using interview techniques and evidence-based therapies for various psychological disorders.
Perform case management functions and maintain accurate client information in a registry.
Use validated symptom inventories to assess the severity of mental health conditions.
Provide patients with education regarding their specific mental health conditions and treatment regimens.
Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, and military commanders as required.
Supervise unlicensed providers or trainees in clinical settings.
What we're looking for
Must be a United States citizen.
Must currently possess a Top Secret security clearance.
Must have at least 2 years of peer-reviewable clinical work experience in a mental health setting.
Experience working in a government setting such as DoW or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is preferred.
Must have experience in brief behavioral interventions.
Must possess one of the three specified advanced degrees and corresponding licenses/credentials in social work, marriage and family therapy, or professional counseling.
Must be able to meet credentialing and privileging standards pursuant to Defense Health Agency procedures.
