What you'll do

Design and write clean, maintainable Java code for the automation testing framework.
Lead the design, development, and enhancement of automation testing framework features.
Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering standards and best practices for the codebase.
Integrate security tools like SonarQube and Snyk to remediate software vulnerabilities.
Own and improve CI/CD automation using Jenkins, Docker, Harness, and Rancher.
Serve as a technical escalation point to resolve complex automation framework issues.
Lead design discussions and proof of concept efforts to drive architectural decisions.
Mentor and coach engineers on technical skills and the adoption of new technologies.

What we're looking for

BS degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field required; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
5+ years of professional software engineering experience with production systems, distributed systems, and backend microservice development.
Advanced Java programming expertise including OOP, concurrency, multithreading, performance tuning, and Spring Boot.
Strong working knowledge of Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, partitioning, and serialization formats like Protobuf or Avro.
Experience with distributed computing frameworks, API development, SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and S3.
Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), DevOps tools, Git workflows, and containerized deployment (Docker, Harness, Rancher).
Experience leading work within Agile delivery models, including sprint planning, code reviews, and backlog refinement.
Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code (preferred).
