Assistant Chief Engineer, Critical Environments

What you'll do

• Supervise and direct operating engineers in the maintenance and repair of critical building systems and machinery.
• Manage the preventative maintenance program by scheduling tasks, ordering parts, and maintaining inventory.
• Oversee contracted maintenance work to ensure timely completion and fulfillment of equipment warranty obligations.
• Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure including HVAC, electrical systems, fire/life safety, and emergency backup systems.
• Provide hands-on training and technical instruction to staff regarding tools, safety procedures, and troubleshooting.
• Manage the daily operations of the engineering team to ensure 100% uptime for client assets.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure they follow critical facility work authorization protocols and safety guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of building rounds, engineering logs, data sheets, and emergency escalation procedures.

What we're looking for

• Must have hands-on experience in data centers or critical facilities, including UPS systems, emergency generators, and switch-gear.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 5+ years of related work experience, including supervisory experience.
• Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent.
• Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs within 90 days of employment.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 feet.
• Corrigo experience (preferred).
• ServiceNow experience, EPA 608 certification, and NFPA70E training (preferred).
