JOB TITLE: Applied AI/ML Software Engineer The Applied AI/ML Software Engineer joins the Human Research and Engineering Solutions AI/ML team to develop, ship, and maintain AI/ML and Generative AI services. This role involves building scalable infrastructure platforms from the ground up, creating evaluation pipelines, and designing integration workflows to support hardware product development. You will write high-quality, testable code, research new ML techniques, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to distill complex requirements into actionable plans. Key technical requirements include proficiency in Python or other object-oriented languages like Ruby or Java, along with experience in LLMs, custom ML model training, RAG/agentic pipelines, and data visualization. The work focuses on providing data insights and solving difficult technical challenges for hardware engineering teams, factory teams, and third-party accessory manufacturers.

What you'll do

Write high-quality, testable, and scalable code for AI/ML and Generative AI services.
Build scalable infrastructure platforms from the ground up to support machine learning workflows.

Develop and maintain evaluation pipelines and integration workflows for AI services.
Distill complex requirements from cross-functional partners into concrete action plans.
Lead design reviews and author technical documentation for peer feedback.
Present work to leadership through demos, presentations, and retrospectives.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of professional software engineering experience working in Python or other object-oriented programming languages.
Demonstrated ability to write applications in high-level programming languages like Python, Ruby, or Java.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
Experience building with LLMs, designing and training custom ML models, and developing RAG/agentic pipelines (preferred).
Experience with data analysis, processing, analytics, and visualization to drive data-based decision making (preferred).
Experience evaluating complex AI systems, producing actionable hypotheses, and assessing their validity (preferred).
