What you'll do

  • Own the design, architecture, and lifecycle management of enterprise REST, gRPC, and event-driven APIs.
  • Define and enforce API standards for naming, versioning, error handling, and contract-driven development.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership by reviewing code and designs to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Implement security measures including OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, rate limiting, and input validation.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure such as API gateways, developer portals, and shared libraries.
  • Ensure system reliability through observability tools, circuit breakers, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex API issues and cross-service integrations.

What we're looking for

  • More than 10 years of experience in designing, governing, and delivering enterprise APIs.
  • Expertise in REST APIs, with preferred experience in gRPC and event-driven architectures.
  • Proficiency in backend technologies such as Java or C#.
  • Experience with API gateways, service mesh concepts, and distributed systems/microservices.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud platforms, and CI/CD automation.
  • Deep knowledge of security protocols including OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, mTLS, and RBAC.
  • Proficiency in observability tools for logging, metrics, and tracing.
  • Ability to lead technical teams, mentor engineers, and manage API lifecycle governance.
