As an Antenna Systems Engineer on the Amazon Leo team, you will contribute to the development of a low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to design, simulate, and optimize high-performance phased array antenna systems. Your daily responsibilities include designing calibration systems, signals, and algorithms, performing trade-off studies, and conducting end-to-end modeling of baseband, RF, and antenna systems. You will also perform lab measurements and validation for various subsystems while collaborating with modem and digital teams to fine-tune radio designs. Required skills include proficiency in Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, or Rust, along with experience in Linux/Unix environments. Technical expertise involves DSP techniques, RF system design, and using tools like SystemVue, ADS, LabView, CST, or HFSS alongside lab equipment such as VSAs, VSGs, and VNAs.
Design and implement phased array calibration systems, signals, processing, and algorithms.
Perform performance analysis and design trade-off studies for phased arrays.
Conduct end-to-end modeling, simulation, and analysis of baseband, RF, and antenna systems.
Execute lab measurements to validate the performance of antennas and phased array subsystems.
Fine-tune radio designs in coordination with antenna, modem, RF, and digital teams.
Develop scripts and code using languages like Python, C++, or Matlab for system testing.
What we're looking for
Candidates must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
BS in Electrical Engineering with relevant coursework in digital communication theory, DSP, RF/Microwave Engineering, Antennas, and Electromagnetic theory.
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
Experience in DSP techniques, digital modulation, radio architecture, line-up analysis, and RF system design.
Experience with lab test equipment including VSAs, VSGs, VNAs, and Oscilloscopes.
Coding and scripting skills with demonstrated experience in Matlab, Python, or C++.
