Antenna Systems Engineer, Antenna Calibration, Amazon Leo is a technical role focused on the design, simulation, and optimization of phased array antenna systems for a low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing calibration systems, signals, processing, and algorithms while performing end-to-end modeling of baseband, RF, and antenna systems. You will conduct lab measurements to validate performance and collaborate with modem and digital teams to fine-tune radio designs. The role requires proficiency in programming languages like Python, C++, or Matlab, along with experience in Linux environments and simulation tools such as SystemVue, ADS, or LabView. Key technical competencies include DSP techniques, RF system design, and familiarity with hardware test equipment like VSAs, VSGs, and VNAs to solve complex communication challenges.
Design and implement phased array calibration systems, signals, processing, and algorithms.
Perform performance analysis and design trade-off studies for phased arrays.
Conduct end-to-end modeling, simulation, and analysis of baseband, RF, and antenna systems.
Execute lab measurements to validate the performance of antennas and phased array subsystems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to simulate, measure, and fine-tune radio designs.
What we're looking for
Candidates must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with relevant coursework in digital communication theory, DSP, RF/Microwave Engineering, Antennas, and Electromagnetic theory.
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience or a PhD with 2+ years of experience.
Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
Proficiency in coding and scripting using Matlab, Python, or C++.
Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
Experience with lab test equipment including VSAs, VSGs, VNAs, and Oscilloscopes.
