As an Always On Subsystem Power Management Firmware Engineer, you will join the ASICS Engineering team to develop embedded firmware for SoC power management solutions. You will be responsible for managing the distribution of allocated power and thermal budgets while characterizing both existing and new IPs. Your daily work involves defining, modeling, designing, optimizing, verifying, and documenting IP development for high-performance, low-power products. To succeed, you must utilize architecture and design tools, scripting tools, and programming languages to execute complex flows like RTL to GDS. You will collaborate with cross-functional hardware and firmware teams to implement strategies that meet system requirements. This role focuses on the critical technical challenge of limits management within the Always On subsystem to ensure efficient power distribution across various high-quality product lines.
Define, model, design, optimize, verify, and document IP development for high-performance, low-power products.
Develop embedded firmware to manage the operation of the Always On subsystem.
Manage the distribution of allocated power and thermal budgets for SoC systems.
Characterize existing and new IPs to ensure proper functionality and performance.
Create advanced architectures, circuit specifications, logic designs, and system simulations based on requirements.
Evaluate complex process flows from high-level design through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use.
Utilize EDA tools and RTL to GDS flows to execute the design of complex blocks and IC packages.
Write and review detailed technical documentation for complex EDA, IP, and ASIC projects.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (preferred).
6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience (preferred).
2+ years of experience with architecture and design tools (preferred).
2+ years of experience with scripting tools and programming languages (preferred).
2+ years of experience with design verification methods (preferred).
