The Aircraft Systems Engineer II joins the engineering team to investigate and solve technical problems related to the research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft. This role involves managing complex engineering assignments, following established schedules, and providing technical assistance to staff to meet project milestones. The engineer will support systems engineering processes including requirements management, validation, verification, change management, process assurance, and functional integration. They will also assist in developing standards for systems engineering methods and maintaining open communication with system owners. Key tools and methodologies include Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and specific software such as IBM DOORS, Siemens Teamcenter, MATLAB System Composer, and Cameo. The role requires applying technical principles to solve problems of moderate complexity while ensuring all work meets customer requirements within the aviation domain.
Solve technical problems related to the research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft.
Manage requirements using tools such as IBM DOORS, Siemens Teamcenter, MATLAB, or Cameo.
Apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods for requirements development.
Execute systems engineering processes including validation, verification, change management, and functional integration.
Develop standards and guides for systems engineering processes and methods.
Provide technical assistance to engineering staff to ensure the completion of project milestones.
Communicate technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats to internal stakeholders.
Coordinate activities for lower-level engineering staff under supervision and mentorship.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related curriculum is required.
18 months of related engineering experience is required.
Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles including Requirements Management, Validation, Verification, Change Management, Process Assurance, and Functional Integration.
Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods to apply Requirements Development.
Familiarity with program milestones and deliverables that support a program or project.
Familiarity with Requirements Management databases and tools such as IBM DOORS, Siemens Teamcenter, MATLAB, or Cameo.
Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats.
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
