Agent Operator
The Agent Operator joins the Agentic Service Experience team to manage what Sierra AI agents know and how they behave across email, chat, and voice channels. This hands-on role involves tuning agent prompts, intents, conversation flows, and knowledge bases to ensure accurate, brand-aligned responses for healthcare and pharmaceutical customers. You will translate product backlogs into tangible behaviors by analyzing transcripts, latency logs, and accuracy reports to identify and resolve performance gaps. Key responsibilities include authoring prompt-aware content, managing information architecture, and optimizing retrieval through metadata management and chunking strategies. The role requires expertise in technical writing, conversation design, or knowledge management, alongside experience with LLMs, RAG, and agentic AI systems. You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to refine the system's reasoning logic while ensuring high-quality, hallucination-free interactions within a complex, regulated service environment.
Author and structure prompt-aware content to ensure AI agents respond accurately and empathetically without hallucinating.
Translate the product manager's prioritized backlog into specific changes in agent behavior, prompts, and conversation flows.
Manage the knowledge base by cleaning metadata, improving vector match probabilities, and optimizing chunking for efficient retrieval.
Analyze failed conversations, transcripts, and latency logs to identify and resolve technical gaps in the AI’s logic.
Maintain the accuracy of the knowledge base by establishing review cadences and removing stale information.
Ensure all agent responses are aligned with the McKesson brand voice and appropriate for healthcare customers.
Collaborate with engineers and product managers to provide feedback on platform enhancements and prompt improvements.
Experiment with different knowledge approaches to determine the balance between deterministic data and LLM reasoning.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in Technical Writing, Information Architecture, Conversation Design, Knowledge Management, or Product Operations.
At least 1 year of hands-on work with AI knowledge for a deployed conversational or agentic AI system is required.
Experience authoring structured content for technical systems in a defined brand voice is required.
Ability to analyze transcripts and logs to diagnose and resolve AI performance issues is required.
Experience working with leading LLMs, Gen AI concepts like RAG, and agentic AI platforms is preferred.
Experience managing knowledge bases or content systems (e.g., KM platforms, CMS tools) is preferred.
Contact center or customer service experience in healthcare or regulated industries is preferred.
