As an Advanced Systems Admin Specialist, you will serve as a front-line interface for users by conducting systems analysis and development to ensure infrastructure remains current with evolving technologies. Your daily responsibilities include installing software, troubleshooting issues, granting application permissions, training users, and performing server administration for both physical and virtual operating systems. You will also manage hardware and network interfaces, perform OS and vendor software patching, and monitor performance using specialized tools. The role requires proficiency in Linux environments including Rhel 8 and 9, Windows environment tooling such as Active Directory, Exchange, and SharePoint, and networking components like Cisco and Juniper switches. You will utilize scripting to automate processes while working within classified environments involving secure development practices and potentially integrating AI/ML models to solve complex problems in cyber, RF, undersea, and interstellar domains.
Serve as a front-line interface to resolve user technical issues through systems analysis and development.
Install new software, troubleshoot system errors, and manage application permissions for users.
Provide day-to-day support for physical and virtual server operating systems.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual hardware and network interfaces on servers.
Perform OS and vendor software patching across all server environments.
Monitor physical and virtual server performance using specialized monitoring tools.
Create and execute scripts to automate repetitive administrative processes.
What we're looking for
U.S. citizenship is required.
TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is required at time of hire.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field plus 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of experience is required.
Solid understanding of server-based operating systems and enhanced troubleshooting skills for server OS, networking, and storage technologies are required.
Working knowledge to create and run scripts to automate repetitive processes is required.
Experience working in Linux environments including Rhel 8, 9, and Redhat is required.
Experience with Windows environment tooling such as Active Directory, Exchange, and SharePoint is required.
Familiarity with networking (firewalls, CISCO & Juniper switches) and AI/ML models (preferred) is required.
