What you'll do

  • Lead front-end commercialization strategy for new product programs by influencing architecture, platform decisions, and supplier engagement models.
  • Execute enterprise-level DFx standards including manufacturability, assembly, cost, and serviceability across multiple programs.
  • Establish early co-development models with strategic suppliers to optimize material strategy and design intent during concept phases.
  • Serve as the senior technical authority for complex mechanical and electrical design decisions affecting yield and cost.
  • Develop execution frameworks that translate early design intent into scalable manufacturing plans and virtual validation strategies.
  • Integrate manufacturing cost structures and process economics into front-end commercialization to mitigate risk before designs are committed.
  • Identify systemic risks across programs and provide executive-level technical status and readiness assessments to senior leadership.
  • Mentor staff and institutionalize best-known methods for commercialization engineering and DFx execution.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive engineering experience in product development, DFx, commercialization, supplier engineering, or complex technical program leadership.
  • Mastery across mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines with deep understanding of manufacturing systems and precision fabrication methods.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing process engineering, process economics, or systems engineering is a differentiating asset.
  • Proficiency in "should-cost" methodology to translate cost risks into design guidance at a systems level.
  • Expertise in DFx methodologies including DfM, DfA, DfC, DfS, DfR, ITO, and transportability.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional technical alignment across Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Supplier Engineering organizations.
  • Proven ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems by translating incomplete design inputs into coherent technical strategies.
