The Acquisitions Associate joins the Acquisitions team to evaluate and execute new investment opportunities across a diverse portfolio of real estate funds and strategies. This role involves the full lifecycle of real estate investments, including underwriting, structuring, due diligence, financing, and closing. Day-to-day responsibilities include building detailed financial models to analyze returns and risk, preparing investment committee memoranda, conducting micro- and macroeconomic market research, and performing property inspections. The candidate will collaborate with data science teams to implement machine learning and AI-driven analytical processes while coordinating with internal stakeholders for transaction management. Essential skills include proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ARGUS Enterprise. The role addresses the challenge of managing complex real estate investment structures and transitioning completed assets to asset management within a growing, entrepreneurial investment environment focused on various core and value-add strategies.
Underwrite prospective real estate acquisitions using Microsoft Excel and ARGUS Enterprise.
Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate investment returns, risks, and sensitivity scenarios.
Prepare investment committee memoranda, presentation materials, and supporting documents for potential acquisitions.
Conduct research on micro- and macroeconomic market data to identify trends and opportunities.
Perform financial, operational, and market due diligence to prepare deals for closing.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the acquisition and transaction process.
Support the development of machine learning and AI-driven analytical processes with the Data Science team.
Facilitate the transition of completed investments to the Investment and Asset Management teams.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
1+ years of full-time real estate experience, preferably within private equity, real estate credit, investment banking, brokerage, valuation & advisory, or a related field.
Strong understanding of real estate investment fundamentals and financial analysis.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and financial modeling.
Experience with ARGUS Enterprise (preferred).
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to communicate complex investment concepts.
Interest in leveraging technology, data science, machine learning, and AI for real estate investment decisions.
