Who You Are:

Designs, develops, and refines algorithms, including neural network architectures tailored for natural language processing and/or machine perception tasks, to create functional predictive models for diverse applications.  Utilizes a diverse array of training-time and inference-time techniques, including convolutional and transformer-based models, student-teacher models, distillation, and generative-adversarial networks (GANs), as well as the design of cost models and discriminators, to optimize model performance in terms of accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and reliability for real-world deployment.

What You’ll Do:
• Leverages a range of Cisco data and external data to identify opportunities and define a variety of hypotheses
• Articulates the solution, defines its feasibility, understands its marketing requirements and communicates to program managers
• Keeps abreast of industry changes and latest developments to aide in model and architecture selection and development
• Guides teams in building and evolving model design practices for high-priority/ business critical ML models across multiple products/teams
• Leads exploration of state of the art, emerging model architectures and algorithms that contribute to building Cisco's products

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree + 12 years of related experience, or Masters degree + 8 years of related experience, or PhD + 5 years of related experience
  • Developed, trained, and deployed machine learning models for real-world applications
  • Trained and optimized machine learning models to improve quality yield and reduce test time across the Silicon One product portfolio
  • Designed and implemented end-to-end ML pipelines (data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring)
  • Analyzed large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights and inform decision-making
  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business stakeholders
  • Built scalable data processing systems using distributed frameworks 
    Optimize model performance, latency, and resource utilization in production environments
  • Implemented A/B testing and experimentation frameworks to validate model impact
  • Maintained and improved data quality, feature stores, and model monitoring systems
  • Documented methodologies, models, and system architectures

Preferred Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced System Level Test (SLT) Engineer to lead the design, automation, and validation of robust SLT solutions for High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) of complex, high-power, high-speed System-on-Chips (SOCs). You will play a critical role in developing and integrating automated test flows, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring seamless production test enablement and quality improvement across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, automation, and validation of System Level Tests (SLT) tailored for HVM for cutting-edge, high-power, high-speed SOCs.
  • Develop and integrate comprehensive test flows, scripts, and automation to maximize SLT coverage and enable seamless communication between test controllers and peripherals.
  • Partner with system architecture, chip design, and validation teams to define production-ready SLT and HVM test solutions.
  • Drive custom SLT development to optimize system performance, power efficiency, and test coverage for new and existing products.
  • Oversee handler selection, enablement, and hardware integration—including PCB design, socket selection, and temperature control systems for efficient test environments.
  • Enhance manufacturing test quality by improving test correlation, yield, and reliability across New Product Introduction (NPI), HVM, and Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes.
  • Collaborate closely with OSATs (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) on production enablement, sustaining operations, yield analysis, and DPPM (Defective Parts Per Million) reduction initiatives.
  • Support silicon qualification and reliability testing (HTOL, Burn-in) at the system level to ensure robust and reliable product performance.
  • Develop automated scripts to optimize test communication between controllers and peripherals.
  • Lead SLT hardware integration projects, from PCB design to temperature control systems.
  • Analyze yield data and implement improvements for higher reliability across NPI and HVM.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in system-level test development, automation, and validation for high-volume SOC manufacturing.
  • Strong background in scripting (Python, Perl, etc.) and developing automated test frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with test hardware integration (PCB, sockets, temperature control, etc.).

Your Impact

Your Impact

  • In this highly visible role as Senior Hardware Engineering Failure Analysis Technical Leader, you will lead complex failure analysis investigations on networking switches and router hardware.
  • Passion for technical failure investigations, hardware root cause analysis and quality engineering.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of networking products and high speed communication interfaces.

Your Impact

About the team: ​​Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital One’s most important enterprise platforms. We establish practices for building technology solutions across the company and deliver capabilities that exemplify those practices. 

As a Director TPM in EPTech, you will leverage your technical acumen and engineering experience to drive the strategy and execution of large-scale, technically complex, cross-functional programs aligned with Capital One’s business priorities. You’ll break down complexity and organizational silos, influence roadmaps, dive deep into system design and architecture, make technical tradeoffs, drive platform consolidation, and identify, resolve, define, and escalate mitigation plans for hard technical dependencies.
